Our approach to AI

As a social enterprise consultancy, Community Enterprise is proudly people‑led. Human judgement, expertise, and the sensitivities to the nuances of our clients, beneficiaries and projects are central to everything we do.

As we explore Artificial Intelligence (AI), we carefully balance innovation with our values, considering the moral, social, and environmental implications of its use. As part of this, we’ve developed an AI policy to guide how we use these tools, and we’re committed to being transparent about our approach.

We will only use AI as a tool for limited administrative tasks, for example, summarising text for executive summaries and assisting with the organisation and analysis of large volumes of data.

However, AI does not replace the professional expertise of our team, and it will never be used to write reports, shape conclusions or create recommendations.

We remain committed to protecting client and community information. We use Microsoft Copilot, which offers us enhanced data security and ensures our GDPR compliance.

The work of Community Enterprise, as it has been for nearly 40 years, is grounded in the experience and expertise of our team, not AI. AI is used only in limited, carefully considered ways to ease administrative tasks, allowing our staff to stay focused on delivering the high‑quality, human‑driven community support and research we’re known for.
