Re-employ are an excellent and effective social enterprise, based in Fife and running a commercial enterprise to support adults with disabilities to secure real jobs through manufacture and fulfilment. When covid hit in March 2020 and the plant had to close, orders could not be fulfilled and, for reasons not of their own making, Re-employ found themselves in some financial difficulties. Community Enterprise were commissioned to undertaken a organisation review and business analysis including an assessment of market conditions and potential new routes for sustainability. With a new focus on procurement of branded workwear, and a skilled Business Development Manager on board, the organisation were successful with some early contracts which have grown over recent months and the enterprise is moving to self-sustainability and a period of growth. Investment from the Adapt and Thrive programme resulted in them securing an automatic embroidery machine which is vital to this growth plan.
