Kilmaronock and Gartocharn Community Council are the local representative body. A steering group was established with representatives from across the community, and this body led on managing the Local Place Plan.
Kilmaronock is on the Southern edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It is a unique community linked to the Park but also with connections to the outskirts of Glasgow. The group have always been active, and Community Enterprise has worked on a range of projects with them, from the asset transfer of the church to a feasibility study on green burial. The group themselves led on the community consultation which resulted in a sea of excellent data that needed to be made sense of.
Community Enterprise analysed the data and curated it into themes and projects based on the evidence. We augmented the consultation with clear demographic data to build a picture of the community.
The six themes and their associated maps were tested at a well-attended open event. We then worked closely with a GIS mapper to produce compliant maps. Once agreed upon, Bold produced the Local Place Plan itself.
The Local Place Plan was signed off and has now been successfully verified by the National Park Authority.
"Community Enterprise provided thoughtful and professional support. They were always accessible and responsive and hit our deadlines. A great service."
