The Growing Climate Confidence Scorecard is part of the more comprehensive Climate Confident Scotland Project delivered by SCVO on behalf of the Third Sector Net Zero Steering Group, in which Community Enterprise is an active partner.
The project was designed after feedback from Scotland’s third sector, which indicated that there is a wide need for support to understand the climate crisis and how individual organisations can act.
Specifically, the scorecard and the website's wider resources provide support and resources to encourage organisations to take their first steps in reducing their carbon emissions while helping them embed sustainability into their work.
The Scorecard provides an ideal, user-friendly way for social enterprises and third-sector organisations to understand their impact. Beyond the initial assessment, the service also offers ongoing education and support, guiding organisations through practical, manageable changes that can be implemented into their policies and procedures. The Scorecard was explicitly designed in collaboration with Small99, sustainability experts focusing on small businesses, to ensure that the system is practical, empowering and manageable for organisations of all sizes.
The Climate Confident Scotland project has reached an exciting stage in its development. As the project develops, Community Enterprise will continue to be an integral partner, releasing even more resources, including training opportunities.
Community Enterprise undertook the climate confidence review; our report is here. We have many areas that need improvement, and we will continue to implement the recommendations provided in our scorecard.
