Background

Braid Health and Wellbeing is an established Day Care centre based in Livingston. It offers a range of social and well-being activities to clients, carers, and their families for those with dementia and other age-related conditions.

Need for Support

Exploration of ideas and development of an action plan to help improve Braid's long-term sustainability. 

What we Did

We supported them in thinking through options to reposition Braid from a daycare centre for elderly people into a community-based hub serving a wide variety of audiences and age groups in the community. They are thinking about networking and awareness-raising locally to promote the Hub to new customer groups and partners.

Outcomes

Community Enterprise began by exploring the potential uses for the community space and partnership links. Then, a plan was created for the hub, setting out options for diversifying services and increasing trading income and a detailed action plan for the board.
