Strategic links and partnerships

We know that strengthening the sector takes collective action.

We deliver national, thematic and regional contracts and initiatives that create lasting impact. We also help drive positive change by working closely with organisations, funders and partners to share learning, build insight, develop new opportunities.

Strategic links

Since 1987, we have been at the forefront of the Social Enterprise movement in Scotland. We are proud founding members of Social Enterprise Scotland and our Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Westwater, is their current Chair.

We are also a founding subscriber to the recently refreshed Voluntary Code of Practice for Social Enterprises in Scotland.

As part of our leadership role within the sector, we also convene a quarterly roundtable of national agencies to respond to challenges facing Scotland's third sector.

 

Partnerships

With almost 40 years of experience, we have built strong connections across the sector.

We work closely with government and national bodies including Scottish Government, UK Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, South of Scotland Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise, Creative Scotland and Historic Environment Scotland.

We also collaborate with a wide range of funders and sector partners, including (but not limited to): Social Enterprise Scotland, Co-operate Scotland, Foundation Scotland, Social Enterprise UK, Challenges, Robertson Trust, SCVO, Scottish Community Alliance, William Grant Foundation, Firstport, Scottish Rural Action, DTAS, and Impact Hub Inverness.        

We stay close to the issues that matter most to communities, taking an active role in networks and working groups themed around poverty, community wealth building, Inclusive and Democratic Business Models, rural and island communities, climate action and equality, diversity and inclusion. We are a key delivery partner of many third sector programmes including:

  • Empowering Endings Network
  • Growing Climate Confidence
  • Just Enterprise

 

Programme delivery

We're always interested in exploring opportunities to partner, co-design and deliver programmes, services and contracts that create lasting impact.

From leading national programmes such as Accelerate, the Crisis Recovery service and the Social Enterprise Support Map, to our work as a key delivery partner for Just Enterprise, we have a strong track record of working collaboratively to deliver meaningful support for Scotland's third sector.
