Supporting the sector
Strong communities need a strong third sector.
As well as supporting groups and organisations, we play an active role in strengthening the sector as a whole.
We do this by developing practical support, research, tools and insight, and by working with organisations, funders, policymakers and national partners to share learning, build understanding and influence positive change. Together, this helps shape policy, inform practice and strengthen outcomes for communities across Scotland and beyond.

We support organisations, funders and policymakers to make informed, evidence-based decisions by combining our 40 years of practical experience with rigorous research to produce community-led insight.
Crisis Recovery
We provide free, tailored support and strategic guidance to third sector organisations facing severe challenges which may impact their future through our Crisis Recovery service.
Social Enterprise Support Map
We help address the challenge of navigating third sector support through our free, interactive Social Enterprise Support Map, enabling organisations to quickly find and access the right services at the right time.
Policy and consultation
We use our 40 years of community experience to bring practical insight to policy development, responding to consultations and influencing decisions that impact the sector.
Sector collaboration and influence
We help drive positive change across the sector by working closely with organisations, funders and partners to share learning, build insight and create opportunities for collaboration and impact.
Innovation and development
We work with communities and partners to develop and test new ideas that respond to real challenges. By designing and piloting innovative programmes, tools and approaches, we create solutions and learning that can benefit the wider sector.
