The challenge

The Scottish Fair Trade Forum is a national support agency for the Fair Trade movement.

Despite good support from the Scottish Government, there was a need to investigate income generation ideas and therefore a need to adjust the legal structure to protect the core charity.

How we helped

We worked closely with the forum and explored income generation ideas, establishing what would be the appropriate legal structure to enable this development.

The result

Set up of new subsidiary for future trading activity

The Scottish Fair Trade Forum felt the options and advice we offered gave them the confidence and clarity to make the decisions that best matched their initial intentions. This resulted in the setting up of a new subsidiary for future trading activity.
