The challenge
The Strathaven and Glassford Community Council covers the town of Strathaven, the village of Glassford, and the surrounding outlying hamlets in South Lanarkshire. Strathaven and Glassford sought external support in producing a Local Place Plan and a Community Action Plan, which will help allocate windfarm funds from the Kype Muir Community Fund.
How we helped
We carried out extensive community consultation, including a survey, focus groups, sessions with children and young people, and drop-in events. This, together with desk-based research, led to the production of a research report with a lengthy list of ideas, which was then condensed into a shorter list of ideas for a Local Place Plan and Community Action Plan.
