Types of work: Impact and evaluation

Production of an evaluation report charting a vision for the organisation’s future activity.

The challenge

Launched in 2011, Lifeworks was created to support veterans experiencing difficulties transitioning from the Armed Forces to the civilian job market. It has since grown on a national scale, supporting not just veterans, but the families of currently serving military personnel, with over 900 people supported in 2021 alone.

The in-depth evaluation explored the challenges veterans face in their search for meaningful employment after leaving the forces.

How we helped

Over 12 months, we conducted interviews and focus groups with over 102 delegates. We undertook rigorous data analysis to ensure that the RBLi Lifeworks team would have an evaluation that would help them have a clear vision for the project's future.

The result

 In-depth evaluation report created

A vision for the future of the project based on findings

An in-depth evaluation report was produced and the findings were striking; 12 months after taking part in the programme 80% of veterans have moved into either employment, further education/ training or volunteering.
