North West Edinburgh CLIP Consortia
Procrurement support and business planning support for a new Edinburgh consortia of social enterprises
The challenge
A group of long-established social enterprises were seeking to strengthen their commercial landscaping and gardening operation as part of a wider move towards greater financial sustainability.
While the organisation delivered significant social impact through employability and support programmes, it wanted to increase earned income, create more jobs and ensure that local wealth was retained within the community through trading activity. This required a clear business case, a stronger commercial focus and confidence that growth plans were realistic and achievable. Meanwhile, a new Edinburgh Council led pilot developed a new Community Wealth Building process to facilitate tender opportunities.
How we helped
Through Accelerate, we worked alongside the organisations to support the procurement process and finalise all the paperwork needed.
We also supported the final submission of the tender, having helped establish the consortia.
