The challenge
As the restoration of the historic Inverkeithing Town House progressed, a local advisory group was established to prepare for taking on responsibility for operating and managing the building.
While members brought significant passion and commitment to the project, many had limited experience of managing a complex community asset and needed support to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to lead the organisation into its next phase.
How we helped
We supported the advisory group by designing and delivering a tailored training and capacity-building programme covering the key areas required for successful management of the Town House.
This included business planning, financial management, governance and trustee responsibilities, marketing and communications, risk management, operational planning and community engagement. The training was delivered in a practical and accessible way, helping participants understand not only the theory but also how it applied to the day-to-day operation of a multi-purpose community venue.
