The challenge
Held in Our Hearts is the only charity in Scotland providing specialist, long-term baby loss counselling for individuals and families. They operate in 6 of the 14 health boards in Scotland.
Following a steep increase in demand for their services and changes in the funding environment, the charity wanted to undertake an evaluation of the impact of their services. The report was also designed to identify areas where the organisation could develop and evolve as well diversifying funding streams and generating income.
How we helped
Accelerate worked with Held in Our Hearts to produce an Impact Report which confirmed how highly valued their services are to external stakeholders and partners. The report provides a strong platform for them to promote their services to even more NHS boards across Scotland.
It also identified some gaps and opportunities for the charity to extend its reach while not jeopardising the existing quality of service. These included professional development and training services to NHS staff and engaging with employers who may have staff who have experienced baby loss.
