The challenge
The Cree Valley Area Development Trust (CVADT) is a community organisation in Dumfries and Galloway. It was working with the Cree Valley Community Council and local groups to manage community benefit funds, plan local projects, and improve the area around Newton Stewart and Minnigaff.
CVADT was looking at ways to develop a sustainable income and were considering a community asset transfer of the Minnigaff Park and Pavilion.
How we helped
Through Accelerate, we provided a community consultation and options appraisal for the potential asset transfer.
We also provided support to the board to make decisions about options and partnership working.
The result
Community have the information they need to steer decision making and discussions regarding asset transfer
Thanks to Accelerate, CVADT now have the clarity they need to continue ongoing discussions on the possible asset transfer.
